The IOI Regulations describe the objectives and the general form of the IOI, the responsibilities of the host country and the participating countries, and the role of the various official IOI bodies.

Current Approved IOI Regulations

The current version of the IOI Regulations was approved by the GA in Nowy Sącz, Poland, at IOI2005 (August).

Previous Versions

The IOI Regulations are still in a process of evolution. In the past, regulations were put together for each IOI separately. We had regulations for IOI'92, IOI'93, and IOI'94. Earlier regulations are available in printed form only.

The Regulations for IOI'95 are set up in a more general format. The IOI Regulations have undergone a minor revision approved at IOI'96.

The IOI Regulations have undergone some further amendments in 1998 and 1999.

IOI Regulations with amendments approved in Beijing, China, at IOI2000.

IOI Regulations with amendments approved in Korea at IOI2002. This version is derived from the proposed rewritten IOI Regulations by a few minor amendments. IOI Regulations with amendments approved by the GA in Wisconsin at IOI2003 (August).

For purposes of comparison, one may wish to consult the Olympic Charter, which captures the fundamental principles of the International Olympic Committee, owner of the Olympic Games.
