History
At IOI'92 in Bonn, Germany, it was decided
"to install an electronic discussion list, in the form of a list server,
as a means of communication among the participating countries
in the period between two olympiads" (quoted from
the IOI'92 Final Report:
2.2.6
Meeting and Decisions: Improving the IOI Communication).
Formerly, the IOI mailing list was located in Hungary,
but that service has been discontinued and is now replaced by the new IOI-list
at TU/e as of October 6, 1997.
Over time, various other IOI-related mailing lists have been added.
